Hot-melt adhesives are solid at room temperature and are melted by heat for application. They produce less CO₂ during manufacturing, as no organic solvents are used in the coating process and no drying process is required. Based on the hot-melt adhesive formulation technology owned by our U.S. subsidiary Mactac Americas LLC, Lintec fully launched its environmentally friendly CHILL AT labelstock for chilled environments in the Japanese market in 2020. Since then, Lintec has steadily expanded its lineup of products that utilize hot-melt adhesives, which have been adopted for food products as well as a wide range of other applications.

Building on this expertise, Lintec has now developed a hot-melt adhesive that can be applied even in low-temperature environments as cold as -5℃ and allows labels to be repeatedly removed and reapplied. Labelstock using this adhesive will be launched on March 10, 2025.

Both the adhesive and facestock consist of raw materials listed on the positive list of the Japanese Food Sanitation Act, and the adhesive also complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) food standards.* The labelstock can also be affixed to wet and oily surfaces, to which ordinary labelstock has difficulty adhering. After use, the labelstock is easy to remove from products and containers, which helps encourage recycling.

Suitable for labeling daily necessities, cosmetics, and industrial products, as well as for temporarily sealing packaging for refrigerated and frozen food and food containing oil, this labelstock helps to simplify food storage. Lintec will continue to focus on expanding sales of environmentally friendly products and will strive to provide functional labelstock that meets the needs of its customers.
