Risk Management
The LINTEC Group is working to build a group-wide risk management system in order to identify risk factors affecting the entire group and prevent such risks from occurring while also aiming to establish the principle of action in connection with seizing and capitalizing on opportunities.
Risk Identification / Assessment / Analysis
To enhance its risk management framework, the LINTEC Group has established the Corporate Risk Management Committee, which is comprised of executive general managers and general managers that report directly to the president. The committee holds meetings periodically.
The committee assesses and analyzes risks associated with a broad range of factors, including those related to sustainability, based principally on each member’s recognition of the issues as well as the results of annual risk identification surveys of those in managerial positions. The results are presented to the Sustainability Committee on a quarterly basis to receive instructions on actions to take as needed.
Under the sustainability promotion system, all the committees work together to increase risk management capabilities while making ongoing efforts to improve the risk management framework, with the aim of achieving the sustainable growth of the LINTEC Group.
Group-wide BCMS
LINTEC CORPORATION and TOKYO LINTEC KAKO, INC. obtained the ISO 22301*1 certification in March 2014. They operate the BCMS*2 to be able to minimize the human cost and resume business as early as possible following an earthquake or other disaster.
We provide e-learning to make sure that in the event of an earthquake individual employees can identify their role and take independent action according to pre-determined procedures. In addition, each site actively conducts drills and training sessions in accordance with the business content and characteristics of the location.
The operation status of the BCMS at each site is confirmed by internal audit, and employees’ opinions and suggestions for improvement are discussed by the corporate BCMS council and reflected in group-wide initiatives.
- *1ISO 22301: An international standard for BCMS that a corporation or organization should follow in establishing and effectively operating a system to prepare for earthquake, fire, trouble in the IT system, financial crisis, bankruptcy of supplier, pandemic, or other natural disaster or accident.
- *2BCMS: BCMS stands for a Business Continuity Management System. It is a management technique to develop a business continuity plan, based on the understanding of the current conditions of the organization, to ensure that the businesses are continued in the event of a serious incident that will or may have grave impact on major products/services of the organization. Drills are also performed to validate the effectiveness of the BCP.
Information Security
LINTEC has developed the Information Security Management Rules. The company performs an information security self-audit as part of e-learning programs to help employees to understand more about and become more aware of the importance of information management.
Whistleblowing System and Harassment Counseling Desk
The LINTEC Group has a helpline (global whistleblowing system) to enable employees to report, without any disadvantage, any serious legal or ethical violations that they identify. LINTEC added a third-party lawyer to the helpline system to facilitate prompt investigations while protecting reporters and reported details. We have also established and operate the harassment counseling desk to improve the workplace environment.
